Casey Jay Morgan, of Hartland, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9th, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.
Casey was born on July 3rd, 1973, to Debra and Tom Morgan at the U.S. Army Hospital in Nuremberg, Germany, while his dad was serving in the Army. In August of 1974, the family moved to Dousman, where Casey spent his childhood making memories with his older brother Chad and building friendships that lasted a lifetime.
After graduating from Kettle Moraine High School in 1991, Casey enlisted in the United States Marine Corps for five years. During his time as a Marine, he worked as an Aircraft Avionics Technician while stationed at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, CA. Casey continued his service to others as an active member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 294 in Hartland, where he volunteered, championed community drives, and connected with fellow veterans. He was also an active member of the HAAA through the softball park in Hartland.
In 1999, Casey welcomed his first son, Collin, and in 2004, his second son, Nathan—two of the greatest joys of his life. Being a dad was Casey’s favorite role. He loved cheering his boys on at football games, spending countless days and nights with them on Pretty Lake, coaching youth sports, and proudly watching them graduate from KMHS, WCTC, and Iowa State.
Casey knew how to live life to the fullest. Whether it was volunteering at the Legion, perfecting his fantasy football lineup, fishing with his kids, watching the 4th of July fireworks at Pretty Lake, hanging out at Derby Days, playing softball every Wednesday in Dousman, bowling in his men’s leagues, tossing cornhole bags, or celebrating Morgan Christmas at the Kalahari with his sons, nephews, and niece—Casey embraced every moment.
To many, he was “Caser.” To his family, he was a son, brother, dad, and uncle. Casey always put family first, never hesitating to set his own feelings aside if someone needed him. He was loved by everyone who met him and had a way of making you feel like you mattered.
Casey will forever be loved and missed by many. He is survived by his sons, Collin and Nathan Morgan; his parents, Debra and Tom Morgan; his stepmother, Diane Morgan; his brothers, Chad (Kat) Morgan and Jeff (Laura) Honeck; his nephews, Zachary (Autumn), Matthew (Madeline), and Andrew; his niece, Emily; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ernie and Lillian Phillips; paternal grandparents, Ruby and Gordy Smycek and Everett Morgan; his cousin, Shannon Morgan; and his uncle, Russell Morgan.
The Morgan family extends heartfelt gratitude to the ICU doctors and nurses at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion toward Casey and their kindness to his family during this difficult time.
