Born on August 23, 1930, in Timaru, New Zealand, Glenn Da Deppo was the son of Italian and New Zealand parents. His childhood was marked by hardship, as he and his siblings were removed from their parents and raised in orphanages during WWII. Despite difficult beginnings, Glenn’s strength & determination carried him through. At age 15, he was reunited with his father and his hope for a brighter future was reignited. His first job was at Hoff brothers grocery store on Crown Street, and it was here that he met Lila.
'A Wonderful Life' filled with Cherished Connections
Glenn cherished and valued his family & friends, and enjoyed great food & wine. 'Up the Brothers' was his motto. Married to Lila for 70yrs before their separation in 2023, he was deeply loved by his daughter Sue, grandchildren Jade & Ian, and great-grandchildren Stella and Lucille; sons Ken and Neil & his children Joshua, Aiden, Alexandra & Ethan. Glenn loved his siblings Oz&Val, his nieces & nephews, Karen, Geoff, John, Jane, Barb, & Bob. In his later years he would often remark he had had lived a 'wonderful life'

A Builder of Business, Community&Success. Glenn & Ozzie founded Wollongong Plumbing, now Glennos Constructions, in 1974. Glennos went on to become a cornerstone of South Coast civil construction. Known for pioneering sewer connections in Wollongong, Glenn’s work helped bring modern amenities to countless homes. His projects included many residential subdivisions and major infrastructure, a dedication to community growth. His leadership &integrity was shown in the loyalty of his staff, including Pauline &many others
Fun, Friends and Fine Food and Wine
Glenn found happiness in the simple things in life like his beloved German shepherd Molly, tending his yard and lawn, and enjoying meals at favorite restaurants such as the Lagoon, Jade Court and Il Nido. He loved to read the newspaper paper and to listen to crooners like Frank Sinatra. A proud supporter of the Paramatta Eels, he also enjoyed road trips to wineries with the Borgos and the Kemps, and family holidays to Surfers Paradise. His Catholic faith often the topic of playful debate with his dear friend Fergie

Glenn, aged 95, passed peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by loved ones, and the caring staff at the IRT Tarrawanna.
Blessed by Father Nguyen in a private ceremony held at Tender Funerals, he was cremated and his ashes laid to rest at Lakeside Memorial Park.
His legacy is visible across Wollongong, in the subdivisions he built, and most importantly in his family home in Balgownie.

Dad, I thank you for everything you’ve done for me and my family. Holidays, weekly dinners, you were always willing to help me when I needed it most. I am truly grateful that I was able to return your kindness and love through to the very end of your life. Sharing a year together with you in my home gave me many memories I will cherish forever.

I will miss you Uncle Glenn, although we lived very seperate lives in recent times i have so many wonderful memories of staying with you, it was one of the highlights of my childhood when I would come to Wollongong and raid your pantry for honey jumble biscuitsn that you ensured were there for my visits, this is truly the end of an era now with both you and my Nonno/Os gone, I can only hope you are both up there together enjoying each others company once again. I love you Rest well dear Uncle Glenn xo
